I wish people would stop with this whole FAT (and skinny) thing. Especially on tumblr, I see a lot of people going “fuck yeah plus sized girls!! girls are SUPPOSED to have curves! be proud of being fat” but then also there are the pro-ana people. BOTH OF YOU ARE SO ANNOYING AND PROMOTING UNHEALTHINESS. It’s NOT healthy or okay to be fat just like it’s not healthy or okay to be underweight! Of course a person can be still attractive, but all this shit “plus sized models should be the new standard” no. nO. NO!!! Obesity is the world’s biggest and most expensive health problem, and you just want to promote it more. STOP. What we need for models and mannequins etc. is something like NORMAL WEIGHT, do you even remember that exists? EVERYTHING ISN’T JUST SKINNY OR FAT AND SHOULDN’T BE!

I just curious, what is normal weight? Is it for everyone to be 120 pounds for someone to be 160 pounds. wtf is normal there is no “normal weight”. “Normal weight” varies from body type to height. No one should be normal weight. They should be at a healthy weight. Accorded to their height someone can be 5ft6’ and healthy weight ranges from idk maybe 140-160 also depending on their body frame. So don’t say everyone should be normal weight. God I would like to throw a water ballon at your face.

I would think that she’s defining normal weight as what is declared specifically for them by their doctor. The focus of her post is health, and while everyone is beautiful at any size/shape/point in their life, there is a difference between self love and encouragement and promoting of unhealthy/deadly lifestyles. Maybe I read the post wrong, but she didn’t say anything about a specific weight for anyone, just more of the extreme ideals to be simmered down a bit!

I think the whole problem is that people thing there is a normal weight, and as OP said ‘we need mannequins/models to be a normal weight’ but however their bodies are shaped, somebody isn’t going to look like the model or the mannequin. somebody is going to be smaller or bigger or shorter or taller or lighter or darker. the idea of a normal weight needs to disappear as well, just like the whole idea that models should reflect ‘real women’ what does that even mean.

Guys Im pretty sure she didn’t mean normal weight like a weight everyone should have. We all are well aware of everybody being different and that’s normal, just like all ‘normal weighted’ models, which in my opinion means people who have a HEALTHY weight for their height etc., will not all look the same which is absolutely normal. I think the focus of her text was HEALTH. Everyone can weight how much they want as long as it’s healthy. And that is a ‘normal’ weight to me. You can do whatever you want, want to have muscles? want to be skinny? want to be curvy? don’t care at all? That’s all fine as long as you’re healthy. I totally agree, we should stop promoting unhealthy lifestyles.

I just want to throw in there that “curvy” has nothing to do with being heavier.
You can be heavy/overweight/whatever and curvy AND you can be skinny/thin/whatever and be curvy and every weight in between.
It’s a body type attribute and has nothing to do with how much you weigh.
Bone and overall body structure. That’s it.
And as far as all this nonsense.  Just be happy and healthy mentally and physically and talk to people of expertise.  Doctors/Nutritionists.
